Safety and accessibility are at the heart of Darebin's new trial of shared Lime e-scooters and e-bikes in Northcote, Fairfield and Alphington. All trips must start and end at designated parking locations, carefully selected to keep our footpaths clear and provide access to key locations. The latest technology is being employed to restrict where these vehicles can park, to detect and deter footpath riding, and to slow them to walking pace in busy areas. During the trial we’ll keep track of how community members use the e-scooters and e-bikes, as well as feedback on any issues. We’ll present this information to Council at the end of the six-month trial. You'll find more information about the trial on our website. |

Transport Victoria's Pop-up Bike Lane project was a State-funded programme that started in 2022 to test new bike lanes on popular routes such as Heidelberg Road. The State Government is now making Heidelberg Road bike lane and local feeder routes permanent. As part of this, feeder routes, including sections of Victoria Rd, Arthur St, Westgarth St are getting a refresh. Temporary yellow line marking (pictured above) is being replaced with permanent white line marking and all symbols are being upgraded to current standards. |
